S.S. Whetton (Sam) is a graphic designer specialising in books and printed matter. Her interest in print runs long and deep—the daughter of a commercial printing business owner—she has been learning the trade and the history since 1997. She has a broad range of practical skills including printing, bookbinding and various finishing techniques that compliment and inform her design practice.
Recent projects include publications with The Bower, Harriet Plewis, and A6 BOOKS. Together with artist and educator Esther McManus she launched the imprint Temporal Drag under which they re-publish copyright free texts and put them in conversation with new ones; considering the potential that arises from engaging with ‘obsolete’ practices and ideas in the here and now.
